One of the most successful playoffs clubs of the modern era, the Detroit Red Wings advanced to every single postseason from 1990 to 2016. We have a vintage Detroit pennant collection of six that celebrates the earlier Wings. With five examples in the 30” range, give or take, and constructed of soft felt, the first is a highly desirable 1950s player pennant, with screened on logo and generic detailed player. The tassels are intact but stained, with pinholes, a few stains and light wear to the graphics and tip. The next two are team photo pennants in matching design with intact tassels, one from 1961-62, the other, circa-1965, with the ’61-62 pennant in beautiful condition with just some light edge toning, while the circa-1965 example has pinholes, staining/discolouration, and a clipped/torn tip. The reverse also has heavy tape yellowing, with the photo covered in clear discoloured, brittle tape. The final two 30” pennant are both matching examples, with a large team logo over the left, with one from dated 1970, with “NHL Services” beneath, with light wear including a pinhole over the tip, while the other is on firmer stock and was issued later, with just an NHL logo beneath the team emblem and pinholes, with toning over the left border. The final Red Wings pennant is circa late-1960s/early-1970s, at 22” in length, on firmer stock with no tassels and a large team logo. A few small stains and creases are present, along with heavy toning throughout.
