Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Fall 2022

For those who have yet to land what most consider the puck hobby’s holy grail and who appreciate the finer things in life, comes this less-often-seen Spalding puck. Like the ones used in the NHL for most of the 1930s and up until 1942, this version features identical company logos on both sides, with “Official National League” around the outer edge of the logos with both remaining in very nice condition showing only very minor wear. The puck itself has light chipping, mostly located on various areas along the edges of both sides, and is showing some crazing to the surface of the puck on both sides and on the edge. This earlier, less common and thus more desirable of two versions has the Spalding logo molded into the edge of the puck, where “OFFICIAL” in block letters also appears. The Spalding puck was adopted as the first official puck of the NHL and is a must for a vintage game puck display.
