Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/21/2020
A Vancouver Canucks’ draft selection in 1985, netminder Troy Gamble would win the Del Wilson Trophy as Top Goaltender in the WHL in 1984-85 before making his NHL debut with the Canucks, on Nov 22, 1986. Additional time would follow in the NHL and IHL including the final two seasons of his career spent with Houston. This photo-matched mask was worn by the New Glasgow native with the Aeros in 1995-96, and possibly for the second half of the 1994-95 IHL season. Produced by maker extraordinaire Greg Harrison and featuring an attractive aircraft design, the original cage, strapping and padding remains intact, with Harrison signing the interior on the right side, adding “for Troy Gamble” and that date of 1995. Great game-use is exhibited on the desirable head gear, with surface wear visible along with numerous small chips including over the chin section and along edges.
