Mid- to late-1950s Toronto Maple Leafs Baseball Club game-worn pinstriped jersey and pants are an awesome find. Button-front #9 jersey features blue felt Maple Leafs crest with “ML” embroidered in white thread sewn on the left front. Blue felt numbers are sewn on the back and right front. These uniforms were most often than not recycled for a few seasons, and this jersey and pants are no exception. Both have Rawlings “Hall of Fame” Flanner tagging as well as size and season set tagging. The 1955 jersey is a size 42 and the size 36 pants are from 1957, with the number 10 written in fading red marker inside the back of the waistband. Really nicely preserved, this is a great addition to a minor league baseball uniform collection.
Rawlings “Hall of Fame” Flannel tagging sits in the back of the neck of the jersey along with a size 42 patch. Laundry instruction tag inside the left front hem has a “Set 1 1955” flag tag. The pants have the same Rawlings tagging in the back of the waist, along with a “Set 1 1957” flag tag and size 36 and laundry instruction patches. There is a tiny dot of a reddish-brown spot stain above the “9” on the right breast.
