Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction September 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/24/2024
One of only two occasions throughout the storied history of the Toronto Maple Leafs that witnessed the franchise crowned Stanley Cup champions for three consecutive seasons, the blue and white boasted an exceptionally talented line-up during the early-1960s that included a number of HOFers and superstars with Tim Horton, Frank Mahovlich, Dave Keon, Red Kelly, Gorge Armstrong, Johnny Bower and others. This fabulous grouping includes 20 vintage 1962-64 Leafs postcards signed by 19 with 10 different HOFers (6 deceased), with the remaining 9 players all deceased (there are two postcards signed by Red Kelly). The deceased HOFers include Horton (beautiful flawless ballpoint signature with personalization), Kelly (both in green felt-tip marker with personalization), Stanley, Olmstead, Bower and Punch Imlach, along with fellow HOFers Duff, Pulford, Keon and Frank Mahovlich, rounded out with Harris, Stewart, Nevin, Brewer, Simmons, Litzenberger, Shack, Hillman and Bobby Baun. The majority of the signatures are in blue ballpoint unless otherwise noted, with the postcards showing just light corner and handling wear.
