Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2025
First playing in the Canadian League in 1885, the Toronto Baseball Club then played in both the International League and Eastern League beginning in 1886, with the franchise lasting until 1967. Five of the Leafs championship teams are recognized as being among the 100 greatest minor league teams of all time according to the National Baseball Association. We offer a group of Leafs baseball programs totaling ten including eight from the 1934 season and a pair from 1935. The 1934 programs are for games against Rochester (scored), Syracuse (unscored), Albany (2, both unscored), Buffalo (2, unscored), Montreal (unscored) and one that is missing the line-up. A number also have Leafs team photos as well as cameo photos of Nap Lajoie, Hugh Duffy and Ed Barrow, as each served at points as Leafs manager. The 1935 programs are both for games against Syracuse and both are unscored. The group all show wear from age and handling as expected, with some rusting to the staples. This is part of a large group of early Maple Leafs material in this auction all hailing from a longtime collector.
