Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/21/2017
This scarce team photo montage depicts the 1918-19 Toronto Arenas, the defending Stanley Cup champions. The Arenas claimed the first Cup contested by the newly formed NHL in the spring of 1918, when they defeated the PCHA champion Vancouver in a five-game series. Hall-of-Famers Jack Adams, Rusty Crawford, Harry Cameron, Hap Holmes and Reg Noble led the Arenas to Toronto's first championship along with Alf Skinner, Harry Mummery, Harry Meeking, Ken Randall, and Corbett Denneny, who delivered the first Cup-clinching goal in league history. This fantastic 16" x 20" vintage studio print is mounted to its original white matte that measures approximately 17 ¾ x 21 ½”. Team members and management are pictured, along with the Stanley and O’Brien Cups.
Some toning and spotting has taken place, with the majority of the central imagery clean. There is also corner wear, with a crease along the top right.
