Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/19/2018
Making the leap to the NHL directly from high school hockey – a feat unmatched by any other goaltender – Tom Barrasso was also the youngest-ever recipient of the Vezina Trophy, when the 18 year old was presented with the important award in 1984. We have a Buffalo Sabres jersey that was worn by Barrasso during the mid-to-late-1980s, circa 1986-88. Currently void of collar labeling and measuring-out to roughly a size “56”, an embroidered CCM crest in Sabres colours resides over the reverse bottom hem, with the fight strap cut out. Styled with the classic Sabres team crest with embroidered detailing, the blue V-neck has been accented with yellow tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers with white trim, with matching diminutive team crests over each shoulder.
A few marks are visible across the front, with larger examples over the lower right sleeve. There are also a few faint board burns present including near the team crest. Barrasso was inducted into the United States Hockey Hall of Fame in 2009.
