Bringing Lord Stanley back to the NHL’s original American franchise after an almost 40-year absence, Tim Thomas and company finished first in the Northeast Division in 2010-11 and defeated all post-season competition to claim the Boston Bruins first Stanley Cup championship since 1972. Claiming both the Conn Smythe and Vezina Trophy's to go along with Lord Stanley, offered here we have both the pads and catching glove worn by Thomas during the 2011 Stanley Cup Finals against the Vancouver Canucks. Starting with the pads, Vaughn made V4 model pillows in Boston's black and white colourway, "Vaughn" and "V4" logos appear over the outer roll and upper face of each pad while "Vaughn" has been added over the outside of both in individually sewn on black leather letters. Having had "Thomas" embroidered into the outside of each pad as well in black thread, the pads display excellent game-use through many puck marks over the faces of each piece as well as additional wear via a large repair over the boot area of the left pad, sweat staining and dye transfers over the white nylon areas, heaviest in the leg channel, leather and nylon fabric scuffing/fraying and finally, red and yellow coloured post paint transfers. With all the straps and buckles present and accounted for, all are intact and still fully functional, this includes the skate lace toe ties at the front of each boot on the bottom as well. For the glove, a Vaughn made "Epic" model catcher that is once again in a largely white and black colourway, "Thomas" is embroidered into the wrist in black thread while printed "Vaughn" and "Epic" logos appear over the cuff and outside of the pocket. Also having had "Vaughn" embroidered into the backside of the hand and remaining in good condition with all the strapping/lacing intact and functional, the glove shows use via numerous puck marks, large amounts of sweat staining in the white nylon areas, material fraying, a small amount of leather loss at the bottom of the pocket, red coloured post paint transfers and yellow coloured marks throughout as well. With both pieces of equipment hailing from Thomas' personal collection and accompanied by his signed LOA, both the pads and glove have been photo-matched with Getty Image #117104460 (June 15th, 2011 vs Vancouver - Stanley Cup Finals Game 7) to various puck marks seen over the faces of both pads, puck marks over the backside of the glove and to the team repair over the boot of the left pad.
