Hall of Famer Tim Raines’ 1980 Montreal Expos game-worn jersey precedes his sensational 1981 season, when he set a rookie record with 71 stolen bases and was runner-up to Los Angeles pitcher Fernando Valenzuela in NL Rookie-of-the-Year voting. Raines, who pinch ran in six games for the Expos in 1979, played 15 games for Montreal in 1980 and stole five bases. His powder blue Expos road jersey has Rawlings size 40 tagging sewn inside the right rear tail along with a “Set 2 1980” flag tag. Also included is Raines’ early-1980s Expos blue batting practice jersey with Wilson size 42 tagging in the back of the neck.
Raines’ 1980 Expos game-worn jersey has a red-white-and-blue triple twill team crest sewn on the left breast with “expos” spelled out below it in individual lower case red twill letters. Raines’ surname is spelled out in individually sewn-on red twill letters and his retired No. 30 is sewn on the right breast and back, also in red twill.
Raines’ early-1980s Expos batting practice jersey has red-on-white double twill No. 30 sewn on the back and left sleeve. A red-white-and-blue triple twill team crest sewn on the left breast with “expos” spelled out below it in individual lower case white twill letters.
