Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/17/2015
This miniature Stanley Cup trophy was presented to Blackhawks video coach Tim Campbell, whose name is engraved on the upper barrel with those of coach Joel Quenneville, GM Stan Bowman, owner Rocky Wirtz, and senior advisor Scotty Bowman, whose name appeared on the Cup for the 13th time. Captain Jonathan Toews’ name is the first in three columns of player names, including Kane, Crawford, Frolik, Handzus, Hjalmarsson, Hossa, Keith, Leddy, Oduya, Saad, Seabrook, Sharp and Shaw, among others. Silver-plated beauty stands 13” tall and is magnificently preserved with tiny areas of cleanable tarnish below the base of the bowl. Comes with its original presentation box and Tim Campbell’s signed LOA.
In the span of 17 seconds, the Chicago Blackhawks secured the Stanley Cup in Game 6 of the 2013 final against the Boston Bruins. With the Blackhawks leading the series 3-2 but trailing the game 2-1, Bryan Bickell tied it with 1:16 remaining. Before the disappointed Bruins fans at TD Garden could come to grips with their disappointment, they were soon left in a state of shock when Dave Bolland scored what would prove to be the Cup winner and Chicago’s second title in four years. A Boffey manufacturer’s sticker remains on the brown felt on the bottom of the black wood base. The bottom of the tall and cylindrical light blue lidded presentation box is damaged.
