Goaltending legend Terry Sawchuk won the Vezina Trophy for the fourth and final time as a member of the Toronto Maple Leafs in 1964-65, when he shared it with fellow HOFer Johnny Bower. Sawchuk had a 2.56 goals-against-average and one shutout while going 17-13-6 in 36 games in his first of three full seasons sharing the Leafs net with Bower. While sharing the crease, the two HOFers also became the first teammates to share the Vezina. This magnificent Georges Vezina commemorative trophy was made in the 1990s by Boffey, the company that made the Vezina trophies for the NHL. “Terry Sawchuk Toronto Maple Leafs 1964-65” reads the plaque on the front of the 13 1/4" tall trophy’s wood base, which stands 3 3/4" tall and has a brown felt bottom. It is topped by a magnificent 9 1/2" silver-plate “Trophee Georges Vezina” trophy that has acquired a patina and displays cleanable tarnish.
