Upset when first apprised of the trade, leaving the Winnipeg Arena after practice without speaking to anyone, Teemu Selanne was dealt to the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim on Feb 6, 1996. Adjusting to his new American home, "the Finnish Flash" would star with fellow superstar Paul Kariya, and spend parts of 15 seasons in California spread over two stints. Offered here, we present this signed stick used by Selanne as a member of the Mighty Ducks during the 1996-97 campaign in which he potted fifty-one (51) goals and 109 points in 78 games played. A Titan ASD model twig with "Selanne" stamped over the bottom of the topside of the shaft, the stick retains its original black cloth tape job wrapped around the shaved handle/knob and black on the blade. Displaying with overall excellent game-use, dark marks are present throughout the entirety of the shaft, lower shaft, heel and untaped sections of the blade while light red post paint transfer marks are observed over the lower shaft as well. Signed by Selanne over the heel on the forehand side with a large black marker ink signature that is dated 1996 in matching ink, the autograph displays without issue to speak of. Hailing from the personal collection of former WHA and NHL referee, Ron Fournier, the stick comes accompanied by a Classic Auctions LOA.
