Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2019

Wearing the prestigious “C” for the Blue and White for eight seasons, Ted Kennedy would spend his entire 14-season career in Toronto with the Maple Leafs, winning five Stanley Cup championships. Presented to the HOFer, we have his 1946-47 Stanley Cup Championship serving tray/display platter. At roughly 12” in diameter, the elegant keepsake features gorgeous scrollwork throughout, with centralized engraving that states in full “National Hockey League - Stanley Cup Winners - Season 1946-47 - Toronto Maple Leafs Hockey Club Ltd. – Theodore Kennedy”. The underside stamping divulges its silver plate over copper construction, with English hallmarks and “Sheffield Reproduction” also stamped. A signed LOA from the Kennedy family will accompany.
With expected surface wear including scratches and scuffing visible, there is also some minor tarnishing, with a tiny bit of surface loss over a few of the engraved letters. Despite these very minor flaws, the tray displays beautifully as our catalog/online imagery will attest. Kennedy would complete the 1946-47 season with an impressive 60-points scored in just 60 games.
