the son of Hockey Hall of Fame member Syl Apps Sr., the younger Apps would play a total of ten (10) seasons in the National Hockey League for the New York Rangers, Los Angeles Kings and Pittsburgh Penguins to the tune of 727 games played in which he posted a total of 606 points. Selected to play in the 1975 NHL All-Star Game and spending all but two (2) of his years in the NHL with the Penguins, offered here is this stick used by Apps Jr. with Pittsburgh during the 1974-75 season in which he registered seventy-nine (79) points in seventy-nine (79) games played. A Sher-Wood P.M.P. model twig with "Apps S." and "26" stamped to the upper shaft, the stick retains its original tape job of white around the handle/knob and black around the blade while a production date stamp reading "DEC 19 1974" is found on the underside of the shaft near the heel. With the pair of striping accent stickers around the upper and lower shaft remaining intact and accounted for, the stick, showing a crack above the "E" in Sher-Wood on the forehand side of the shaft, shows light game-use with some small marks and abrasions throughout the length of the shaft as well as over the heel. Also showing some light marks over both sides of the blade tape and a rip to the bottom edge near the heel, it should also be noted that there is some minor dust and dirt over the blade tape on both sides near the toe and white paint spots near the toe on the forehand side as well.
Signed by approximately fifteen (15) of the 1974-75 Penguins on backhand side of the shaft in black ballpoint pen ink, those that have signed the stick include names such as; Ron Schock, Pete Laframboise, Jean Pronovost, Syl Apps Jr., Vic Hadfield, Gary Inness, Lowell MacDonald, Bob Kelly, Chuck Arnason, Colin Campbell, Bob Paradise, Mario Faubert, Pierre Larouche and Marc Boileau (coach). All the autographs display well and without issue.
