Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/19/2018
Absolutely awesome early-1950s Montreal Canadiens game-issued wool sweater features a spectacular blue-blanc-et-rouge CH triple felt crest sewn on the front! This blank unnumbered uniform is identical to the photo-matched game worn 1952-53 Dickie Moore Canadiens jersey we sold at auction, right down to the tagging, the four-eyelet tie-neck styling and the reinforced elbows. Raymond Hardware Sporting Goods fly tag sits in the neck along with a fly tag with size “46” marked in ballpoint. Raymond Hardware was the 1950s official equipment supplier to the Montreal Canadiens. Small holes on the front and rear tails and sleeves do not detract from the display of this colorful wool wonder.
There are about a dozen small holes on the front and rear tails, and a similar amount of small holes on the sleeves. The right cuff has some reddish-brown stains.
