Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2020

One of the most beloved Motown players of any sport, Steve Yzerman spent his entire career with the Detroit Red Wings, registering over 1,700 points including almost 700 goals. This signed stick was used by the perennial captain and superstar during the early-1990s. A Louisville TPS model with “Yzerman” stamped, the original black tape remains over the blade and white over the shaved handle/knob, with no striping accents over the lower shaft. Yzerman has signed along the mid-shaft in black marker with a personalization added, with the signature somewhat light in spots, likely due to a weak marker. The stick exhibits light use, with wear to the blade including the underside, with a few marks to the shaft. There is also some tape residue over a few areas of the shaft. Originating from the personal collection of Hall of Fame superstar Bob Gainey, we should note that the stick is signed “To Steve”, with this likely done for his son. A signed LOA from Gainey will accompany.
