Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/19/2018
A pair of noteworthy players that both spent time in The Windy City representing the Chicago Black Hawks, we have a signed helmet that was worn by Steve Larmer circa-1990, along with a signed practice-worn 1991 Canada Cup jersey donned by Michel Goulet. The helmet is a CCM model in solid black, with intact strapping and interior padding. Black Hawks decals grace each side, with “28” over the reverse in mismatched white decals. The practice jersey has Maska labeling with a size “52” fly tag, with the team crest rubberized along with the sleeve and verso numbers. “Goulet” appears across the nameplate in single red twill, with an embroidered CCM crest over the reverse bottom hem.
The helmet shows considerable wear, with scratches, marks and abrasions present, along with tape added to secure the chin strap. Larmer has signed across the forehead in thin gold paint pen, and the signature stands out well against the black background. Photographic evidence points to this style helmet being worn by Larmer from approx. 1989 to 1991. The Team Canada practice jersey exhibits marks over the lower front, with wear to the reverse numbers. Goulet has signed over the reverse in black marker adding a notation, with both bleeding into the background material.
