Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2018

Cool mid-1970s St. Louis Blues game-worn jersey is most likely a 1974-75 gamer worn by goalie Eddie Johnston. This v-neck style would peg this Blues No. 1 gamer with a gorgeous triple-twill Blue Note crest sewn on the front dates from 1973 through about 1977, when NHL teams were forced to add nameplates to their jerseys. This would suggest the number was worn by Johnston or Wayne Stephenson during that period. Rawlings size 50 tagging in the neck has "1" handwritten in black marker and a double lace-style fight strap remains inside the back. There is an intricate team repair on the right side of the back just behind the side seam below the sleeve. More game wear includes light inner pilling.
There is a spot stain on the middle of the upper yellow stripe on the front tail, a couple of tiny reddish-brown stains on the right side of the “1” on the left sleeve and to its right at the bottom, and a light stain near the left sleeve cuff.
