Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction November 2024
Drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in the 21st round of the 2010 Major League Baseball Draft, Scott Copeland would play in the Majors with both the Toronto Blue Jays in 2015 and New York Mets in 2018 while also enjoying a stint in the KBO during the 2016 season as well. Making his MLB debut in May of 2015, offered here is this Blue Jays jersey issued for Copeland's use on July 1st, 2015, Canada Day, against the Boston Red Sox. Made by Majestic and having had the brand's "MLB Authentic Collection" jock tag and size "48" fly tag affixed over the lower front left tail while a similar label heat pressed underneath it reads "28 2015 S1" for player number/year/set. Similar to Toronto's usual home jerseys, with blue swapped for red, the front of the jersey is decorated with "Blue Jays" across the chest in white-over-red dual layer tackle twill letters while a Blue Jays emblem is found underneath. Having had a Canadian flag patch added over the left sleeve and an MLB logo placed over the reverse neckline, Copeland's number "28" is found over the reverse in numerals matching the letters spelling out "Blue Jays over the front. With "Copeland" spelt out across the upper reverse in single layer red twill letters that have been sewn on in a gentle arch directly to the material of the jersey. Issued to him but never worn as he was down in the minors with AAA Buffalo, the jersey is found to be in excellent condition with some light spot stains underneath the collar. An MLB hologram numbered "HZ830772" has been affixed to the bottom of the "2" on the reverse, with the league's database listing the jersey as a "team-issued" example.
