First representing Team Canada as a junior, Ryan Smyth has played for his country at every level including at the World Championships, Winter Olympics, and 2004 World Cup of Hockey, where the offered jersey was worn. Size “58” tagging from Nike is present along the collar along with an IIHF label, with an additional IIHF crest over the back bottom hem, covered with custom velcro – common for Smyth gamers. Styled with the iconic Team Canada primary team crest in use since 1995, the garment has been embellished with dual-colour tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, with the reverse letters over the nameplate heat-pressed on. The important 2004 World Cup of Hockey crest sits over the left breast, with alternate patches over each shoulder. A Nike inventory bar code also resides on the inside hem. Smyth would see action in all six games (three were pre-tournament), contributing four points.
Moderate use is exhibited on the desirable international garment, with board burns over each sleeve along with a few random dark marks. We should also note that Team Canada wore red jerseys in the pre-tournament game vs Russia on Sept 4th, the quarterfinals vs Slovakia on Sept 8th, the semi-finals vs the Czech Republic on Sept 11th (9/11 crest) and the Sept 13th final vs Finland.
