Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction November 2024
The Hobey Baker Memorial Award winner for the 2000-01 season as a member of the Michigan State University Spartans and leading the club to an appearance in the Frozen Four the same year, Ryan Miller would be drafted 138th overall by the Buffalo Sabres at the 1999 NHL Entry Draft and go on to play a total of eighteen (18) seasons in the league with the likes of Buffalo as well as St. Louis, Vancouver and Anaheim. Winning the Vezina Trophy in 2010, offered here is this Sabres jersey worn by Miller during the 2003 NHL YoungStars Game as part of the 2003 NHL All-Star Weekend in Atlanta. Made by CCM, "Goalie Style" and size "60" labels are affixed to the inner collar while a CCM logo patch has been placed over the reverse neckline. Having had the NHL shield embroidered into the reverse hem, an NHLPA patch has been sewn on alongside it also. Decorated over the front with a Sabres team crest that displays with embroidered details throughout its entirety, a 2003 NHL YoungStars Game event patch has been added over the right breast while matching Sabres alternate logo crests appear atop of both shoulders. Styled over the sleeves and verso with Miller's number "30" in stacked tri-layer tackle twill numerals, "Miller" is spelt out in dual layer white-over-red tackle twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate at the top of the reverse. Retaining its original fight strap on the interior which has had a "3" penned to it in black marker ink, likely to denote it as being a third (3rd) period example. Displaying just light game-wear including red post paint transfer marks over both sleeves as well as a couple light puck marks on the inside of the left sleeve, the jersey comes accompanied by a COA from the NHLPA.
Getty Image #1774929 (February 1st, 2003 - NHL YoungStars Game) appears to show a match to the couple of small black bits of extra stitching at the left side of the "0" in the grey layer but is not clear enough to call a definitive photo-match.
