Drafted 103rd overall by the Toronto Maple Leafs at the 1970 NHL Amateur Draft, Ron Low would play a total of 382 games over the course of his National Hockey League career, tending the twine for franchises including Toronto, Washington, Detroit, Quebec, Edmonton and New Jersey. Winning Stanley Cup's with Edmonton in 1987 and 1990 as an assistant coach after his career had concluded, offered here is this Oilers jersey worn by Low during the 1982-83 campaign. A heavy mesh construction offering made by Nike, the first year that the company supplied jerseys to the Oilers and something that would remain consistent through 1988-89, a simple white fly tag with a printed "XL" size designation is affixed to the inner collar and also displays additional handwritten notations in the form of an extra "X" and a "G", presumably for goalie cut, while a Nike logo is screened over the right side of the reverse hem. Decorated over the front with a dazzle twill Oilers team crest that features embroidered details as well, the Universiade '83 patch worn by the Oilers throughout the season is in place over the right shoulder and the sleeves and verso have been styled with Low's number "30" stacked tri-layer dazzle twill numerals. Displaying with "Low" spelt out across the affixed matching nameplate in single layer white dazzle twill letters, the jersey displays just light game-use as Low would suit up in just a trio of contests during the year before being traded to New Jersey. Exhibiting use in the form of an unrepaired skate cut over the lower front and a nice dark slash mark over the right shoulder, additional wear is present in the form of an unrepaired cut over the left sleeve, a dark mark over the right side of the lower reverse and some light fraying on the interior around the elbows with a couple of other marks visible on the inside of the jersey as well as a loop style fight strap. Having been signed by Lowe with a black marker ink signature at the top of the "0" on the reverse, it should also be noted that the sleeves appear to have been taken it a bit along the seam on the underside. A number of photos of Low from 1982-83 shown on this listing are all showing proper placement of numbers on sleeves, team crest, numbers on the back and the Universiade patch on the shoulder although none are high resolution enough to call a definitive photo-match.
