Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/25/2015
The 1988-89 campaign was a big year for the Flyers’ feisty goaltender Ron Hextall. It was his third consecutive season with at least 30 wins. He would rack up an incredible 113 penalty minutes. And in game 5 of the Flyers opening playoff round against the Washington Capitals, he became the first NHL goalie to score a goal in the postseason. Offered is Hextall’s game-worn Flyers jersey from that ’88-89 campaign, tagged in the collar as a “Maska Air-Knit”, with a handwritten “G” in black marker on it. Showing a scattering of marks on the front, back, and both sleeves (including a touch of red paint transfer on the left sleeve), and with a cut fight strap inside, it’s a beautiful Hextall/Flyers gamer up for grabs here.
