The 2009 Montreal Centennial Auction
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/24/2009
Wonderful work of art was done from a photograph of one of the most famous moments in hockey history, a bloodied Rocket Richard shaking hands with a battered and bruised Sugar Jim Henry, not long after Richard had returned semi-conscious to game seven of the 1952
semi- finals to score the series-winning goal. An engraved plaque gives the info and April 8th date, while Geri Storey 95 appears in the lower right corner. Henry autographed the top part of the white mat in black marker, adding Boston Bruins 1, while the legendary Richards big flowing blue marker signature is on the lower portion, with The Rocket added on the lower right. Triple-matted and professionally framed to a big 30 by 34, this one is a mesmerizing classic.
