Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/6/2018
Part of the famous French Connection line along with Gilbert Perreault and Rene Robert that devastated the opposition throughout the 1970s, Rick Martin made 7-straight NHL All Star Game appearances, and he’s currently ranked 11th all-time for Career Goals Per Game Average. We have a stick used by the Verdun native during his rookie era in the early-1970s. A Victoriaville Pro Special Model, “R Martin” appears stamped onto the upper shaft along with his “7”, with additional stamps from Victoriaville on either side of the shaft. The original black tape is in place over the blade and handle, with the striping accents in Sabres colours intact but somewhat tattered. Light use is visible on the lumber, with both the taped section and underside of the blade showing minor wear, with the blade cracked/broken beneath the tape. There is also a small chip over the toe section, with red paint transfer over the taped section of blade and along the top side of the heel section.
