Winning his first of five James Norris trophies in 1986-87 as the NHL’s premier defenceman, Ray Bourque was also awarded this Elizabeth DuFresne Trophy for his status as the best player at Bruins home games. At approx 19” in height and featuring a generic mounted player serving as finial over an approx 10” wide domed silver bowl, the bowl is mounted to a finished wooden base, with the wider bottom tier approx 8 ½” x 8 ½”. A plaque with the particulars engraved has been affixed to the front of the base, including “The Elizabeth C. DuFresne Trophy”, “1986-87” and “Ray Bourque”. Hailing from his personal collection, a signed LOA from Ray Bourque will accompany this attractive award. A portion of the sales from the Ray Bourque personal collection will benefit the Bourque Family Foundation.
The trophy displays beautifully, with tarnishing over the top of the silver bowl and no issues for the mounted player. There is also some light wear to the wooden base and plaque.
