Highlighted by a pair signed by a youthful Barry Bonds, we have a collection of 6 signed Pittsburgh Pirates and Montreal Expos baseballs from the 1970s/80s, with single-signed examples also included from Tom Lasorda (2), Mack Jones and Willie Stargell. First, we have dual-signed balls from the 1987 Pittsburgh Pirates, with each Giamatti NL ball signed by 16 in blue ballpoint, with the signatures displaying well including Bonds, with toning and light scuffing to each ball. This is followed by Pirates balls from 1978 - signed by 13 including Tanner and Dyer, and 1986 – signed by 14 including U.L. Washington, Belliard and Lamont, along with an Expos ball from 1979 signed by 18 including Dawson, Carter, Perez and others, and an Expos ball from the early-1970s signed by 26 in blue ballpoint including Fairly, Bailey, Staub, Singleton and others. LOAs from JSA will accompany for each of the 1987 Pirates balls.
The signatures on the majority of the balls display beautifully, with some mild toning/staining to the 1979 Expos and 1978 Pirates balls. Also included, we have a trio of game-used Rawlings official Feeney NL balls, with “1982” written on one, “1985” on another, and “1986” on the last ball, with toning and staining to each. The Lasorda-signed balls include a NL White ball, with personalization and 1990 date, along with a NL Giamatti ball, with personalization and dark signature. The Stargell is a Feeney NL ball, with a black ballpoint signature, along with an “R.F. Club Laval Home Run 5/20/78” notation (not in Stargell’s hand). Lastly, the Jones is a Feeney NL ball, with a ballpoint signature dated “24-7-74”, with staining to the ball.
