Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction April 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 4/30/2024
A fine relic from the past is this antique hockey locket measuring 1 ¼” high and 1” wide, and which opens up of course to store that picture of one’s loved one or loved coach! With “Royal Canadien Champions 16-17 Philias St-Amand” engraved on the front, crossed hockey sticks on the back, and "H&A.S. 2/17 and an X" on the inside, this little beauty remains in exceptional condition with no wear whatsever on the inscription, and just a touch of tarnish on the edges. Research shows various folks named Philias St-Amand in the early part of the 20th century, but we’re not able to pinpoint exactly who this fellow was, although it’s entirely possible the 1916-17 champs were the Ottawa Royal Canadiens, who won the Ottawa City Senior League that season. Maybe you can get to the bottom of it.
