Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction November 2023

Two of the best to grace the ice of the National Hockey League during the decade of the 1990s and combining to play in a total of 2628 career games in their respective NHL careers, Rick Tocchet and Rod Brind'Amour would share the ice as members of the Philadelphia Flyers for a portion of the 1999-2000 campaign. Offered here, we present this trio of signed sticks used by either Tocchet or Brind'Amour (2) that date from the decade of the 1990s. A mix of Sher-Wood (Tocchet - Early-1990s), Vic (Brind'Amour - Late-1990s) and Hespeler (Brind'Amour - Mid-to-Late-1990s) models that have had their respective wielders names stamped to the upper shaft, all three (3) sticks retain their original tape jobs over the handles/knobs and blades. Of note, both of Brind'Amour's sticks have had the handles shaved down to his liking and one has had most of the blade tape removed to facilitate a signature. Additionally, both Brind'Amour sticks have had his number "17" penned to the handle tape in black marker. With all three (3) showing good evidence of use throughout via marks and abrasions over the shafts, lower shafts, heels and blades, the Brind'Amour offerings sport more wear than the Tocchet and is worth pointing out for accuracy. Of note, Tocchet was seen mostly using Koho made sticks early on in his career and it's possible this one hails from a batch that was sent to him by Sher-Wood to try out. With all three (3) showing stamps or pencil notations over the top or lower side of their shafts, the Tocchet stick shows no cracks or breaks and remains structurally sound while both Brind'Amour sticks have breaks in the blades. With Brind'Amour having signed the blade of both of his sticks with either black or silver marker ink signatures that display without issue, don't miss out on adding this trio of vintage Flyers lumber to your collection today!
