A Memorial Cup champion with the Niagara Falls Flyers in 1968 and originally selected 5th overall by the Montreal Canadiens at the 1966 NHL Amateur Draft, Phil Myre was Montreal's third goalie when the team won the Stanley Cup in 1971 and would go on to play a total of 439 games in the National Hockey League with the likes of Montreal, Atlanta, St. Louis, Philadelphia, Colorado and Buffalo. Representing Team Canada at the 1981 IIHF World Championships in Sweden, offered here is this Team Canada practice jersey worn by Myre during training sessions leading up to and during the tournament. A lightweight mesh construction offering made by Sandow SK, brand labeling displaying a size "Extra Large" designation is affixed to the inner collar while "Sandow SK" is heat screened on over the reverse hem. Decorated over the front with "Canada" and a quintet of white maple leaves that have been heat screened on, Myre's number "1" appears over the reverse in matching style with additional maple leaves over both shoulders also. Displaying light wear overall, puck marks are present over the front and both sleeves while a stain exists over the lower front and pilling is found around the collar.
