Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction November 2024
Featuring Canada’s greatest team, we have a beautiful display that contains an inserted blade containing signatures from 27 members of Team Canada from the famous Summit Series of 1972. Designed to be mounted and displayed, the 8” x 8” plexiglass base features a mounted puck with ’72 graphics that’s been made to hold the signed stick blade. A second 7 ½” x 8” plexiglass panel sits inserted behind the puck, made to display a 5” x 7” photo of “Canada’s Team of the Century”. The wooden stick blade features 27 signatures all scripted in black ink, including Henderson, Cournoyer, Mikita, Dionne, Gilbert, Lapointe, Park, Savard, the Mahovlich brothers and Phil Esposito. Limited to 200 editions, this example has been hand numbered “133/200”. Also sporting a commemorative coin that is encased in the blade near the toe, other Team Canada ’72 members who have added their signatures to this impressive display include Awrey, Berenson, Cashman, Ellis, Glennie, Guevremont, Hadfield, Hull, Martin, Parise, Redmond, Seiling, Sinden, Stapleton, Tallon and Bill White. The stick blade along with the plexiglass display all remain in excellent condition, with no issues for the signatures. Also accompanied by a still factory sealed DVD box set of the broadcasts of all eight (8) games and a limited-edition collector card set produced by Ficel in 2007 for the 35th anniversary of the series that remains in excellent condition, the trio of items hail directly from Phil Esposito's personal collection and are accompanied by his signed LOA.
