Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction November 2024
Leading the NHL in goals (66) and points (133) in 1971-72, Phil Esposito continued putting the puck in the net during the Stanley Cup playoffs, topping all scorers with 24 points including 9 goals in just 15 games. The big, bad Bruins would only lose a total of three playoff matches that season including two in the finals en route to the franchise's second Cup win in just three seasons. Originating from Phil Esposito's personal collection, we have his 1971-72 Stanley Cup Trophy. Standing a majestic 13” and mounted to a wooden base with green felt underside, the names of the men who made it happen are engraved in two rows beneath the team executives, with “Boston Bruins” and “1971-72” engraved above. There are some surface scratches and chips to the finish on the wooden base, with a couple small and barely noticeable surface dents to the metal section of the trophy. Displaying majestically overall, a signed LOA from Phil Esposito will accompany.
