The follow-up to the 1996 World Cup of Hockey, the 2004 edition featured 8 teams in 2 pools, with the Canadians, Russians, Americans and Slovakia in the North American pool, while Finland, Sweden, Germany and the Czech Republic were featured in the European pool. Matches were played in 6 of the 8 competing nations, with Canada defeating Finland in the final 3-2. This Team Sweden jersey was worn by Peter Forsberg. Size “56” tagging from Nike is present along the collar along with an IIHF label, with an additional IIHF crest along the back bottom hem. Styled with the familiar Tres Kronor team crest with each twill crown in royal blue, the solid yellow garment has been embellished with twill numbers, with the back letters heat-pressed directly onto the nameplate. The important 2004 World Cup of Hockey crest sits over the left breast next to a Swedish crest, while a Nike inventory bar code resides on the inside hem. Game-wear consists of a few marks on the lower front and over each sleeve, along with a large stick mark on the middle left side near the seam. Originating from the NHLPA set, the jersey was worn in the Sept 4th contest against Finland which ended in a 4-4 tie. An LOA from the NHLPA will accompany.
