Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/19/2018
A member of the London Knights for a pair of seasons in the early-1970s, netminder Peter Crosbie was selected by the Boston Bruins in the 5th round of the 1972 draft. We have a highly desirable Ernie Higgins mask that was worn by the Port Dover native in the AHL with both the Boston Braves in 1973-74, and Providence Reds in 1974-75. Classic design and style, all padding and strapping appears original, with an Ernie Higgins label affixed to the interior listing both his phone number and address in Norwood MA. The off-white surface remains fairly clean with a few blemishes in spots and minor chipping, with some residue along both sides near the strap attachments. There is also fairly heavy rusting to the attachment buttons. A signed LOA from Mr. Crosbie will accompany, along with a photocopied picture that shows him wearing the mask while with the Boston Braves in 1973-74.
