The follow-up to the 1996 World Cup of Hockey, the 2004 edition featured 8 teams in 2 pools, with the Canadians, Russians, Americans and Slovakia in the North American pool, while Finland, Sweden, Germany and the Czech Republic were featured in the European pool. Matches were played in 6 of the 8 competing nations. This Team Russia jersey was worn in the tournament by superstar Pavel Datsyuk. Size “54” tagging from Nike is present along the collar along with an IIHF label, with an additional IIHF crest along the back bottom hem. Styled with an attractive partially embroidered twill team crest along with “Russia” below in Cyrillic, the international garment has been accented with double-twill numbers along with heat pressed letters affixed to the nameplate. The important 2004 World Cup of Hockey patch sits over the left breast, with an embroidered Nike swoosh logo over the right, while a Nike inventory bar code resides on the inside hem. Visible game-wear includes just a few marks and faint board burns over each sleeve. The Russians wore their solid red sweaters on August 22nd vs Germany, on August 27th vs Team USA, on August 29th vs Slovakia, on September 5th 2004 vs Slovakia and on September 7th again vs Team USA, and the jersey would have been worn in one of these contests. An LOA from the NHLPA will accompany.
