Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2020
Well known to most hockey adherents as the man who famously scored the series winning goal against the Soviets in 1972, Paul Henderson actually served as hero thrice, scoring the game-winning goals in games 6 and 7 as well as in Game 8. Arguably the most important surviving examples in existence, we offer a trio of ticket stubs from Henderson’s personal collection for the first three games played in Russia, on Sept 22 (Game 5), Sept 24 (Game 6) and Sept 26 (Game 7), with each used by Mrs. Henderson. Originally 3” x 5” in size, the Game 6 and 7 tickets are slightly smaller due to rough torn sides, with the date of each game appearing on each ticket in Cyrillic. Fold lines and creases are visible on each, with a large tear to the Game 5 example. A signed LOA from Paul Henderson will accompany these historically important ticket stubs.
