Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2021
Allowing only 2 goals in 25 shots during the Goaltenders Competition at the 1991 NHL All-Star Game, Patrick Roy served as starting goaltender for the Wales Conference and saw action in half the contest, with the Campbell Conference taking home the victory, 11-5. Commemorating the 1991 All-Star Game, we have a 14K gold and diamond ring. Produced for Patrick Roy's then-current wife Michele to commemorate the Habs goalie's participation in the final midseason classic hosted at the old Chicago Stadium, a real diamond is set in the top of the Black Hawks ASG logo on the tableau, with the size 6 ring weighing-in at approx 9 grams. Michele's "M.R." initials and the date of the game are engraved to the interior band, with "Tiffany & Co." stamped. We should note that while the ring is not marked “14K”, the All-Star rings made by Tiffany during the era were all 14K gold. A signed LOA from Patrick Roy will accompany.
Considerable wear from use is visible throughout, with a number of small scratches and dings present.
