Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction November 2024
A three-time Stanley Cup champion with the Chicago Blackhawks, the club that made him the 1st overall pick of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, Patrick Kane has become perhaps the greatest American born player to ever play in the National Hockey League, further cementing his surefire Hall of Fame legacy by capturing the Hart and Art Ross Trophy's in 2016. Also having played with the New York Rangers and Detroit Red Wings in his illustrious NHL career thus far, offered here is this pair of gloves worn by Kane as a member of the Blackhawks during the period of the late-2010s/early-2020s, at some point between 2017 and 2022. Bauer Nexus 1N models in solid black with red and white accents, “Kane 88” is embroidered over the outside of each in white thread while the number "48" has been penned to the bottom of each palm in black marker ink. With just minimal game-wear being exhibited via some rubbing over each palm that is heaviest on the left one, this can be explained by the fact that images from throughout the period this model was worn show Kane using this exact type of glove, but with different numbers written on the aforementioned palms. Additionally, all the images available from that period at no time show Kane wearing gloves that exhibit heavy use. Sporting "Bauer" embroidered into the cuff of each mitt and having had the same number "48" penned to the inside in large scale with the same black marker that is seen on the palms, it is worth noting that the "48" covers a previously penned "21" and that each also shows two (2) dots as well in the same area, possibly to denote the mitts as being second period examples. Perhaps the best American born player to ever play in the NHL, don't miss out on these.
