Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction November 2024
A veteran of 901 National Hockey League games with the Nashville Predators, Pittsburgh Penguins and Florida Panthers after being drafted 230th overall by Nashville at the 2006 NHL Entry Draft, Patric Hornqvist would win back-to-back Stanley Cup championships with Pittsburgh in 2016 and 2017. Wearing the colours of his birth country on numerous occasions throughout his career, winning gold with Team Sweden at the 2018 IIHF World Hockey Championships, offered here is this photo-matched Penguins jersey worn by Hornqvist during the 2014 Hockey Hall of Fame Game on November 14th, 2014 against the Toronto Maple Leafs in Toronto. Made by Reebok and sporting a lone size "54" label affixed to the inner collar, logo patches of both the NHL and Reebok adorn the front and reverse necklines respectively. Styled over the front with a familiar Penguins team crest that features embroidered details, the all-important 2014 Hockey Hall of Fame Game event patch is in place over the right breast. Accented over the sleeves and verso with Hornqvist's number "72" in dual layer black outlined in sport gold tackle twill numerals, "Hornqvist" has been spelt out in matching style letters across the affixed matching nameplate at the top of the reverse. Having had a Penguins team tag sewn on inside the reverse hem that denotes the jersey as being from the set used for the Hall of Fame Game, the garment shows just light game-wear via stick marks over the lower front and right sleeve. Having had JerseyTRAK sensor added underneath a piece of twill on top of the fight strap on the interior, the garment is signed and dated on the inside of the fight strap by Penguins equipment manager, Dana Heinze, and is accompanied by both a Penguins COA and a JerseyTRAK document that lists the games (1) the jersey was scanned into by equipment staff. Also accompanied by Hornqvist's locker room nameplate from the contest, the jersey has been photo-matched with Getty Image #459047116 (November 14th, 2014 vs Toronto - Hockey Hall of Fame Game) to the stick marks of the right sleeve and lower front.
