The Chicago Black Hawks plus/minus leader in 1968-69 along with Gilles Marotte, Pat Stapleton led all Windy City defenceman in scoring that season with an impressive 56 points from the blueline. This stick issued to Stapleton for the 1968-69 NHL season has been team-signed and originates from his personal collection. A Northland Pro Glass Fused model with “12” stamped to the upper shaft along with his preferred lie, a stamp also appears from team supplier Gunzo’s, with the original striping accents unmolested over the lower shaft. The underside of the blade to the heel has also been painted red. Approx 20 have signed one side of the shaft in matching black marker including Stapleton, along with HOFers Hull and Mikita, as well as Pappin, Hull, Wharram, Mohns, Nesterenko, Maki, Boudrias, Jarrett, DeJordy, coach Billy Reay and a few others. Many of the signatures show fading including the Bobby Hull, while a number show bleeding from water staining. The stick shows light age and handling wear, with a bit of dirt staining to the blade and lower shaft. An LOA from the Stapleton family will accompany.
