Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction November 2024
Playing with both the London Knights of the OHA and the University of Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs in the NCAA before turning professional, Pat Boutette would be drafted 139th overall by the Toronto Maple Leafs at the 1972 NHL Amateur Draft and would go on to play a total of 756 games in the National Hockey League with the likes of Toronto, Hartford and Pittsburgh. Offered here, we present this Toronto Maple Leafs jersey worn by Boutette circa 1977. A heavyweight durene knit offering made by Rawlings that dates to either the 1976-77 or 1977-78 seasons based on the style of Leafs crest over the front, a Rawlings label displaying a size "48" designation is affixed to the inner collar while the interior remains void of a fight strap. Decorated over the front with a Maple Leafs team crest that has had "Toronto Maple Leafs" embroidered into it, matching alternate logo patches have been placed atop of both shoulders while the sleeves and verso have had Boutette's number "15" added to them in single layer blue or white twill numerals. Appearing to never have had a nameplate added over the upper reverse at any time, the jersey shows game-wear via board burns and coloured paint transfers over the front and both sleeves, stick marks over both sleeves, team repairs over the reverse and left sleeve and staining/discolouration throughout which is heaviest over the white areas of the jersey and the right cuff (possibly blood). A hard to find 1970s Leafs durene gamer, don't miss out on this one for your all-important collection!
