This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/16/2020
Proclaimed “National Hockey League Champions 1931-1932” on the offered CCM advertising display despite actually finishing second to the Montreal Canadiens, the New York Rangers topped the American Division at the conclusion of the 1931-32 NHL campaign, before losing in the Stanley Cup final to the Toronto Maple Leafs. At approx 14 ¼” x 21 ¼” and produced on thick cardboard stock, the opulent Art Deco display feature’s a colourful large CCM logo over the base, with the flags of each of the NHL’s eight teams patriotically waving on either side of a centrally-placed maple leaf, with a 7” x 9” black and white Rangers team photo inserted beneath. Extremely rare and ideal for prominent display, there is corner and surface wear, most notably to the CCM logo, with the affixed photo showing heavy toning and spotting. There is also some staining over the reverse.
