Encompassing the seven relatively successful leagues that begun in 1920 and continued through integration, the Negro Leagues featured a number of noteworthy stars who would later shine in Major League Baseball including Jackie Robinson, Satchel Paige and Hank Aaron. This large and framed “The Queen and Her Court” poster from 1998 by Ron Lewis has been signed by eight Negro League legends including six that are now deceased. At approx 24” x 35” (exposed), the poster features a charming scene with baseball diamond and tour bus, with all eight pictured, with each signing beneath their respective images including Charlie Biot (currently 104 at the time of this writing), Bobby Robinson (D. 2002), Pee Wee Jenkins (currently 98 at the time of this writing), Jim Robinson (D. 2020), Mamie "Peanut" Johnson (D. 2017), Bob Scott (D. 2020), Ted "Double Duty" Radcliff (D. 2005) and Lester Lockett (D. 2005). The blue marker signatures present beautifully, with Lewis signing along with the limited-edition number of “692/1000”. Professionally matted and framed to full dimensions of roughly 33” x 41”, a COA is affixed to the reverse, and please note that due to the size and/or weight, special shipping arrangements may be required.
