Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/20/2020
A wonderful mixed bag of Habs and Expos goodies, this lot contains a great grouping of items including programs, postcards, bobble heads, media guides, magazines, pins and more! Highlighted by a rare 1962-63 Cowan Boom Boom Geoffrion tile in beautiful condition (just a few very minor and tiny chips visible), there are 49 1970s postcards (Dryden, Lafleur, Richard, Gainey and others), 2 2009 Montreal Canadiens Centennial game programs with tickets, 2 final game at the Montreal Forum programs, 2 first game at the Molson Centre programs with ticket stubs, a 1981 Canada Cup program and a first year 1969 Expos yearbook. There is also a circa late-1990s Expos team-signed baseball, a Gary Carter single-signed ball, 19 modern Habs (12) and Expos (7) bobble heads, a 1982 MLB All-Star Game program, 9 Canadiens media guides (most from 1970s) and much more!
Also included in this large Habs and Expos lot, we have a final game at Maple Leaf Gardens program, Super Bowl XXX and XXXIII programs (low grade, with stubs), a 2009 NHL All-Star Game ticket stub, 5 1976 Montreal Olympics programs, a 1991 MLB All-Star Game program, a Habs centennial pin and coin set in it’s presentation case, a Super Bowl XXXVIII ticket stub, 2004 and 2008 Grey Cup ticket stubs and more. The Habs bobble heads include Lafleur, Beliveau, Koivu, Theodore and others (there is duplication), while the Expos bobble heads include Staub, Carter, Raines, Rogers, Robinson, Dawson and Guerrero. There is some wear to the bobble head boxes, while the programs in the collection display well with expected handling wear, with a few in rough condition (this includes the magazines). The postcards exhibit just light surface and corner wear as do most of the remaining items. The 1990s Expos baseball has been signed by 22 in matching dark ink, including Felipe Alou, Vladimir Guerrero, Terry Jones, Chris Widger and others. The signatures present well with some minor overall fading. The Carter signed ball exhibits a ballpoint signature with no issues.
