Spanning some of the greatest years that the game of hockey has ever seen is this quartet of pucks aging between 1942 and 1962. Leading off, is a Montreal Canadiens game puck that was used between 1958-62. One of the first examples of team logo’s used on game pucks, the front features a Montreal Canadiens emblem, with the NHL Art Ross Tyer patent number label on the reverse. Both of the rubberized labels remain complete with the rest of the puck displaying a clean side and smooth edges with just light pitting to the surfaces with light toning and marks to each crest. The collection continues with a 1942-50 Art Ross NHL game puck. Exhibiting heavy use, a worn-out crest that displays crazing is found on the obverse. The rest of the puck shows multiple chunks missing as well as chips, cuts and scratches to the edges, side and surfaces. Rounding out the group are two pucks used by the premier league between 1950 and 1958. Both have intact Art Ross Tyer crests on each side that display light toning and marks while one of the two shows were to the text on one side. One of the pucks shows heavier wear than the other with surface wear in addition to wear on the side and edges including cuts and chipping while the other exhibiting light surface and edge wear with light cuts to the surfaces, sides and edges also present.
