Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2017

An all-Canadiens offering here stars Jean Beliveau, with the legend's desirable 1953-54 Parkhurst rookie card a decent-looking lower grade example. Light peripheral creases do not affect the image of the young star, with however glue residue/staining on the reverse lowering the technical grade, although all text is legible. Beliveau's second-year card from '54-55 is graded VG-EX 4 by PSA, while a '55-56 raw Parkie is in crease-free VG+ condition, with a light gum/wax stain on the back. In older PSA holders are a '52-53 Boom Boom Geoffrion and a '57-58 Dickie Moore, with both Parkies looking good and labelled EX-MT 6, while a '71-72 O-Pee-Chee Guy Lafleur RC is slabbed EX 5. We'll do the rundown of the (raw) almost-all-Parkhurst rest in chronological order, with a '51-52 Ken Mosdell leading but P, with back/glue damage. From '52-53 are 12-McNeil (VG+) and 13-Bouchard (VG), with a Georges Vezina Oldtime Great from '55-56 at VG-EX. It's then a '57-58 14-Moore at VG, a '58-59 17-Hodge at F, a '59-60 39-Henri Richard at G, a '60-61 48-Harvey at VG and a '62-63 53-Geoffrion at VG-EX. Completing are two '60-61 Topps 48-Newsy Lalonde All-Time Greats (EX, G) and an intriguing modern card picturing and signed by legends Beliveau, Lafleur, Henri Richard and Cournoyer. It is numbered "7/25" and informs on the back that it was autographed at Bossa Productions Sports Collectibles Shows. An interesting lot for Canadiens fanatics to consider.
