Despite finishing 3rd overall at the conclusion of the 1950-51 NHL season, the Montreal Canadiens, laden with Hall of Fame talent including Doug Harvey, Butch Bouchard, Bert Olmstead, Elmer Lach, Tom Johnson and the Rocket, dispatched of Detroit in 7 games to set up a meeting in the Stanley Cup final vs main rival Toronto. The series would be the closest contested in history, with all five games going to overtime, with the Leafs defeating the Habs. This stick has been team-signed by the 1950-51 Stanley Cup runner-up Montreal Canadiens. A "Bellerive Chanpion" full-size model, 19 have signed one side of the shaft in pencil, including deceased HOFers Richard, Harvey, Bouchard, Irvin, Olmstead, Lach and Johnson, along with Harmon, Curry, MacPherson, McNeil, Dussault, Robert, Kaiser, Reay, MacKay, Masnick, Mosdell and one other. The signatures display beautifully, with "Montreal Canadiens Hockey Club 1951" handwritten to the blade.
