Among the 24 Stanley Cup banners that hung from the rafters of the famous Forum in Montreal was this one for the 1929-30 Montreal Canadiens. Led by the likes of Howie Morenz and fellow HOFers George Hainsworth, Aurele Joliat and captain Sylvio Mantha, the Habs climbed back atop the hockey world in the spring of 1930. The Canadiens won the Cup for the third time when they swept the best-two-of-three final from the Boston Bruins, who went 38-5-1 for an .875 regular season winning percentage that remains an NHL record to this day. Offered is the 1929-30 Canadiens Stanley Cup banner that hung from the rafters of the famous Forum in Montreal. Originally purchased for $17,093.25 at the Forum auction, it is made of thick vinyl and measures 7 feet tall by 3 feet wide, with small weights sewn in the bottom of both points. Comes with a Canadiens LOA signed by team president Ronald Corey. Also included is the invoice from the auction along with a Montreal Forum Auction program and bidder’s card.
