More than enough to decorate even the most elaborate collection room, this lot features a treasure trove of framed Montreal Canadiens images spanning from the 1920s to 1960s, totaling 41 and including La Presse" Pictures (7), 1945-54 Quaker Oats Photos (17), 1935-40 Crown Brand Photos (5) and more, plus a framed 1970-71 Habs postcard display. The La Presse pictures include Gardiner, Lepine, Mantha, Larochelle, Ward (Maroons), Smith (Maroons) and Art Somers (Chicago, mounted to board), with each appearing trimmed slightly to fit into their slightly larger frames at approx 10 ¾” x 17 ¾”. This is followed by the Quaker Oats photos, which include Richard, Blake, Lach, Harmon, Chamberlain, Reardon, Reay, O’Connor, Mosdell, Bouchard, Gravelle (with inserted signed card), Durnan, Lamoureaux, Allen, Eddolls, Peters and Roger Leger, with each set in a slightly larger silver frame (8 ¾” x 10 ¾”). Next, we have three large framed 1960s Sport Illustre newsprint photos with Provost, Harper and Ted Harris (18 ½” x 25 ½”), framed Crown Brand photos for Lepine and Mondou as well as Maroons players Voss, Marker and Russ Blinco (6” x 8”), and small framed images including Lepine, Lalonde, Gardiner, Mantha, Vezina, Morenz, Joliat and George Hainsworth (6 ½” x 9”). The 1970-71 postcard display features 23 matted postcards including Dryden, Lafleur, Mahovlich, Cournoyer and others, framed to 24” x 30”. The majority of the pictures/photos and frames in the collection show moderate wear with some minor damage.
